Today in History: May 23: "1959: Glen Wood wins a 200-lap Convertible Series race at Bowman-Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, N.C. It is his fifth and final victory in the series. It also is his only convertible win at the quarter-mile track, a contrast to his success in the Cup Series -- all four of his Cup wins came at Bowman-Gray."
